- Message: What is your message? What do you want the viewer to understand? I want to let the audience know how opioids have become a problem and what we can do as a society to fix this. This is something that has been going on for awhile and we need to start a change. Every year many more people than we expect are being affected by this.
- Action Step: What is the call to action? What do you want the viewer to do? How can the viewer help solve the problem (if this pertains to your message)? The viewer can expand their knowledge on this issue to insure they will not be a victim and can provide help to someone who is. We can also expand the knowledge already given to health care providers
to help fix this and provide alternatives for people who need them. - Significance of Issue to the Public: Why is this issue important to the public?
This issue is important to the public because it has been going on for three decades. Every year there is a significant amount of deaths because of opioids. This is a crisis that is hurting our society and we need to fix this.

Working in the medical field you see the precautions the providers have to take and the policy they are required to use before prescribing any narcotics. Providers are required to run a national wide check on the patient, drug test the patient every so many months to make sure you are taking the medication and nothing else is in your system, and they are required to make the patient sign a form stating they will not sell the medication. This helps the regulations of abusers and people selling the medication. The system is not perfect and probably never will be.
