Hi Hailey!
I enjoyed listening to your presentation. This was a topic that I struggled to understand right away, but I think you did a great job summarizing the processing functions, and how these correlate to what we are scanning everyday.
I think this is a topic I will definietly have to come back to, but now I have your video to help break it down!
Have a great rest of your weekend.

Hey Hailey! I really enjoyed watching your presentation! It was filled with so much good information. And it is truly crazy how far along ultrasound imaging has come! In the beginning, you discussed then vs now, and it is mindblowing we’re to a point where we can do it on our electronic devices right in our hands versus a big bulky machine.
It was nice to have all the preprocessing functions, such as fill-interpolation, spatial compounding, edge enhancement and write magnification. And post-processing functions, such as any changes after the image has been frozen, read magnification, and 3D rendering, broken down and explained so thoroughly. I also really enjoyed the slide that had a good visualization of PACS (picture archiving and communications system) and DICOM (digital imaging and computers in medicine) discussing exactly what each is for. This was a very helpful refresher for me, great job!

Hi Lauren! I’m glad you appreciated my presentation and got something out of it. I also find it so fascinating how far our machines and ultrasound has come as a whole.
Thank you! 🙂

Hailey,
It really is so interesting to look back at how this industry started and the equipment that was available! The advancements that healthcare as a whole, but especially ultrasound, has made over the last few decades is amazing. You did such a good job breaking down all of the preprocessing and postprocessing functions that we are able to do with our machines. I think that you chose really helpful images to include in your slides that really helped to clarify the aspects of each step. I know that we already covered this information in class but hearing the way that you described them really helped to refresh and clarify the information for me. Great job!

Great presentation Hailey! I especially enjoyed your discussion on 3D imaging and rendering. You have great foundational knowledge that you can share with your patients when ask if 3D imaging is safe or not. You also included great images and diagrams explaining the concepts you covered. This is a great review for your classmates on material that we covered earlier in the semester, good job!

Hi Hailey,
The topic you chose to do holds a lot of important information when it comes to optimize our images. You did a great job at going into detail about pre and post processing which in our field is important. Some images, zooming in after the image was frozen makes our spatial resolution worse so us knowing this, we can zoom in before the image is frozen as you had mentioned. Great job!
