I did a little “yes” in my head when you said that most people did not care if a mother was nursing near them, just a little stunned. A little stunned is an understandable reaction for some people. I very much agree that mothers should not be forced into unsanitary conditions to nurse like restrooms and that society should have more comfortable clean places to nurse or pump. Expecting the child to keep a cover over their head while nursing is unrealistic as well. You cannot reason with an infant, if they don’t to be covered, they will just keep pulling it off. Thanks for posting a nice presentation.

Breastfeeding in public is a topic that has been controversial for many years. This project on the stigma of breastfeeding in public provides an interesting perspective on how American culture has given breastfeeding its meaning. It highlights the various reasons why people feel uncomfortable with breastfeeding in public and the negative impact that this stigma can have on mothers who are simply trying to feed their babies.
The project further explores the impact of this stigma on breastfeeding mothers, who often feel ashamed and judged for simply feeding their babies in public. It highlights the importance of normalizing breastfeeding and creating a culture that supports and encourages it, rather than shaming and stigmatizing it.
Overall, this project provides a thoughtful and informative analysis of the stigma surrounding breastfeeding in public and the ways in which American culture has contributed to it. It raises important questions about our cultural attitudes towards breastfeeding and the need for greater acceptance and support for breastfeeding mothers.
