Hi Jen!
Great video I loved listening to everything you had to say! I did the same topic and it’s so nice to hear the same topic from someone else as well. I really liked the graph you gave of areas of pain for the specialty, I hope that we always use proper ergonomics and never have to deal with these injuries.

Hey Jen! This was a great topic to do your presentation on! It is so important for us as sonographers to keep in mind proper ergonomics so that we can prevent ourselves from obtaining MSK injuries. This will allow us to stay in the field for as long as we can. I will admit that I’m not the best at maintaining proper posture when scanning and I’ve already noticed how harmful it can be. Sometimes when scanning patients I can start to feel my shoulder ache or my arm starts to shake. This presentation was a good reminder that I should take care of myself now before I do any permanent damage to my body that I can’t reverse!

Great presentation Jenn! 80% of sonographers experience WRMSK injuries which is why proper ergonomics are so important. If you are ever scanning in pain-stop, take a break, stretch and then readjust yourself, the patient and/or the machine! Good job!

Hi Jennifer,
Great presentation on the importance of proper ergonomics when performing ultrasound exams. I liked how you described how improper ergonomics would cause different long-term injuries. You also did a good job describing ways to have better ergonomics during exams. Great job!
