Hello Ronique, Your presentation was great. It helped me realize how many time I have scanned a patient and had some type of poor ergonomics and how important it is that I start new habits and correct the old. In your presentation I really liked how you gave specific examples of poor ergonomics while scanning. I think it was helpful that you mention when holding the transducer we should be using our palm and not fingers, avoiding the white knuckles (which I do), and when rotating the transducer use our hand not wrist. these were all great reminders for me and I’m sure helpful for others. Thank you for reminding me of good ergonomics as well, posture, keyboard and machine at a good height for the sonographer, and many other techniques. Great job!

Hi Ronique! I really enjoyed your presentation. As students, I think we can all learn new and better techniques for ergonomics. I haven’t tried twisting the transducer with my hand and not my wrist. I’m sure this would take much more stress off of my wrist which seems to be a spot that hurts most when I have poor ergonomics. Also, I have to work on keeping my arm at less than 30 degrees. My shoulder definitely starts to burn during longer exams when I forget to do this. Nice Job!
