Thank you Arianna for this presentation on Day of the Dead and how it is celebrated in the various small towns in Michoacan Mexico. Your description of the celebration and the traditions are so vibrant, especially the festivities in your home town of Aporo.

It was very interesting to learn all the different ways the Day of the Dead is celebrated throughout the city of Michoacan, Mexico. I’ve only heard of the day of the dead through movies and documentary series that mention the events. I’ve never heard of the events in such depth. This is an very informative post. I think it truly gives others details and insight to what the Day of the Dead is and the meaning behind it. Your description of the events makes it feel like the reader/listener is in the area where the event is taking place, I can virtualize the events.

I think the concept of the Day of the Dead is beautiful. Dedicating two days to remember those of loved ones people have lost is truly peaceful. I like that this holiday is also about families coming together to rejoin and remember loved ones. I love that people decorate the tombstones with food, flower crowns, candles, and flowers. This celebrated holiday shows a lot of respect towards those that have passed as well. Thank you for sharing.

You did a great job on your presentation. I recall learning about day of the dead in Spanish class back in the day and at that age I only comprehended what I wanted to hear. Now, reading about all the different ways a family celebrates really connects me emotionally. Good job.

I also want to add that as someone who is a Non-Native Spanish speaker, I really enjoy learning about how traditions differ from city to city. Not every tradition is the same for every family and your presentation highlighted that perfectly!
