Hello, I really enjoyed your presentation. It was really interesting that you started your presentation by introducing the thyroid. It really helps people understand how the thyroid works before learning about a thyroid disease. You included very important information that made the tyroid disease very clear. The study helps you understand how a person’s diet can increase the risk of getting Hashimoto’s Disease.
Wow! This is a great presentation, you really did a good job at explaining the triggers of hashimotos. I agree with the feedback above, starting with the thyroid really helped me understand where this disease affects our body. Diet and lifestyle changes may significantly decrease antibody levels, improve thyroid function, and reduce symptoms caused by this disease. I think making people aware that this disease going untreated can be fatal, causing coma or heart problems is very important. Good job!
I really enjoyed your presentation! It was nice how you started off by explaining the thyroid hormone. It helped me better understand the thyroid conditions and diseases that can be developed from it. I like how you included the study between the levothyroxine treatment and cognitive functions. Initially I would’ve thought that the treatment would’ve had an effect on their cognitive skills, since many medications have serious side effects. I was surprised to see there was no correlation between the two, but maybe there hasn’t been enough studies done on this aside from the one that was included. Nice job!
Very interesting and inormative! I have always loved learning about different types of diseases of the body and I think your presentation did a great job of encapsulating the disease and even going as so far to talk about the thyroid beforehand in order to inform and keep your audience knowing what you are talking about. You also had a very clear and collected voice which aided in my understanding of the presentation. Lastly, I enjoyed the fact that you not only talked about the disease in general but you clearly talked about how and by whom it was founded and even went as far as to explain the effects and leave cited sources. Nice touch at the end with how diet can effect Hashimoto’s disease. I feel like often times people like to separate and distance themselves from diseases and think it cannot happen to them but there are alot of diets and things that you can put into your body that could increase or decrease your chances of catching a disease or getting an infection and so forth.
Hi Kaitlynn!
I really enjoyed your presentation! You were very informative and I liked how you took a step back to explain background knowledge that not everyone may know. I did not know that diet played such a large role in the health of your thyroid! To me it would make a lot of sense for mild cases to be treated simply with an improved diet alongside possible medication!
Hi!
I thought this was a really great way for me to learn more about Hashimoto’s disease, which I originally was not very familiar about. I was not aware that as high of 12% of people in our country developed thyroid issues in their life. I really appreciated how this presentation started simple at just the thyroid, then moved onto more complex topics, like levothyroxine. Since I was once a dietetics major, I really enjoyed the food consumption portion of this presentation with its relation to Hashimoto’s. I found it fascinating that those with Hashimoto’s consumed more nuts than the average person.
It was a very good, informative, and well-presented presentation. I believe when you first started to explain the thyroid, it gave the audience a better form of understanding about your subject. I had never heard about Hashimoto disease but working in a pharmacy, we dispense a lot of different doses of levothyroxine, and I always just knew it’s for thyroid didn’t think we could have different thyroid diseases. The effect of your diet on this was what was interesting to me. Thank you for all the information.
